A Herkimer County woman is facing charges after a toddler fell from a second story window.

According to police, officers were called to the 400 block of North Prospect Street for reports of an injured child. During the course of the investigation it was learned that 53-year-old Lisa Stefanec was responsible for the child who had fallen.

As a result of the fall the child suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital and later transferred to a hospital out of the area. As of right now, the child's condition has gradually improved.

At the conclusion of this investigation it was determined that Stefanec was allegedly responsible for the child's fall and subsequent injuries. As a result, Herkimer Police have charged Lisa Stefanec with Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree. She was processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Village Court at a later date.
