Izzo Announces Community Needs Assessment Action Plan
The City of Rome is releasing the results of a Community Needs Assessment survey.
The project was a collaborative effort involving the Department of Housing and Urban Development and community partners. Rome was one of only five municipalities in New York selected by HUD to conduct a CNA initiative.
Mayor Jacqueline Izzo says the CNA survey results led to the framework for a two-year action plan. Izzo says the action plan will help drive the city's Community Development Block Grant initiatives for the next two years.
Six goals were developed for the city:
- Expand Employment Opportunities
- Increase Economic Activity
- Raise Educational Achievement
- Enhance Local Arts, Cultural and Tourism Opportunities
- Improve Access To Health and Wellness Programs
- Provide Enhanced Housing Opportunities
