Rome Mayor Jacqueline Izzo delivered her State of the City Address on Tuesday evening at the Rome campus of Mohawk Valley Community College.

Izzo said economic development remains the City's top priority and the $10 million  Downtown Revitalization Initiative is the cornerstone.

She says an important part of downtown growth is housing.

The Mayor says the Kearny Group, aided by a $500,000 DRI incentive, will embark on the 16-million dollar Copper City lofts, providing 68 units of lofty-style apartments.

She also touched on infrastructure repairs, public safety and new business growth.

Izzo said the City has made tremendous strides in the last few years and 2019 will hold more successes.
