Jay-K Lumber President Dean Kelly is no stranger to the Winter Olympics.

As a member of the Utica Curling Club, Kelly has worked the last three Winter Olympic games, working as a statistician for the Curling event in 2002 and as a statistics and results supervisor in the 2006 and 2010 winter games.

This year Kelly has been called to Sochi, Russia to manage the Curling statistics once again.

"I see this as a great honor, and a great experience," Kelly said. "Even my previous experience working the games doesn't prepare me for the feeling of being there. When event time comes, everything has to be running, and you can't make mistakes. This is the culmination of a lifetime of preparation for most of these athletes."

Kelly has been to Sochi twice already in preparation for the games, once last February for a test event and once in December for a final equipment test.

He says he is looking forward to representing our region and the area's Curling tradition with honor at this years' winter games.
