The reported drive-by shooting incident happened around 5 p.m. Thursday on Baldwin Street near Grand Avenue.

Police received calls reporting shots fired in the area of an eight-unit apartment building at 204 Grand Avenue.

Witnesses at the scene told WNBF News they heard at least four shots. The gunfire occurred just before a vehicle was observed racing from the area.

Johnson City police interviewed people who had been in the neighborhood at the time of the incident.

There was no indication that anyone was hit by the shots.

After about 10 minutes, officers used yellow tape to close Baldwin Street between Grand Avenue and Pleasant Street.

Investigators found what appeared to be a spent shell near a building that had housed a Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

Johnson City police were assisted by New York State Police in canvassing the area.
