Local Airmen Win National Guard Battle Management Awards

Three local Airmen have won awards in the National Guard Bureau battle management command and control competition.

• Maj. Jennifer King of Prospect was named Air Battle Manager of the Year,
• Master Sgt. Randall Wehrung of Sherrill was named Noncommissioned Officer of the year,
• Staff Sgt. Thomas Silva from Yorkville was named Airman of the year.

The annual awards program evaluates Air National Guard crews from across the country on duty performance, mission contributions and operational achievements.

The awards increased the number of National-level awards won by the Rome based unit to nine this year.
