More than 60 law enforcement officials from 26 local, county and state agencies attended a training session at Mohawk Valley Community College today.

The program offered by the State Division of Criminal Justice Services is designed to help law enforcement agencies improve assistance provided to officers and families coping with line-of-duty deaths, suicide and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Michael Green, Executive Deputy Commissioner of the DCJS, says the program is part of its mission to offer training for law enforcement agencies and officers so they can better serve the community.

Today was the first day of a two-day training session.

Six training sessions are being held across the state.
