In a posting on their Facebook page, Endicott Police say they plan to have a visible presence at all schools in the Village to reassure students arriving for class.

The statement says the move comes due to the shooting at a high school in Florida that has claimed 17 lives and at the request of the Union Endicott School District.

Endicott Police will also be at All Saints School in the Village.

Other law enforcement partners in the New York State Police and Sheriff’s office are also expected to ensure other schools have a police presence.

The statement reads: “The police department and school districts have not received any information that is a cause for alarm or concern.  Our presence will be out of an abundance of caution and to reassure students that their safety is of paramount importance to everyone.”
