Man Charged For Threatening Three Children With A Knife

A Chadwicks teen is facing charges after allegedly threatening three young children with a knife at Donovan Park.New Hartford Police say Nicholas Neff, 17,  displayed a knife to a 12 year old girl, her 5 year old sister and 4 year old brother and threatened to kill them if they didn't leave the park.

Police say Neff also grabbed and pushed the two younger children when they tried to use the bathroom facilities before they left the park. Neither child was injured in the incident.

New Hartford Police were called about the incident and located Neff walking in the area and arrested him. He is charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, three counts of menacing, two counts of harassment and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.

Neff is due in court on August 29 to answer charges.

Donovan Park officials are being advised on whether to ban Neff from the park property.
