SKANEATELES, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a New York City man has drowned over the weekend after his kayak overturned on a central New York lake.

State police say 57-year-old Brian Bonanni of Manhattan was kayaking on Skaneateles (skin-ee-AT'-luhs) Lake on Saturday afternoon when his kayak overturned and he went under water off the town of Skaneateles shore. Residents brought the man to the shore on the lake's west side and performed CPR on him.

He was taken to Auburn Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy has been scheduled.

The incident remains under investigation.
