Massachusetts Man Arrested In German Flatts On Weapons Charges
A Massachusetts man is facing weapons charges following a routine traffic stop on the New York State Thruway.
According to State Police, a Trooper pulled over a vehicle in the Town of German Flatts Sunday.
Upon interviewing the driver, probable cause was established to search the vehicle.
Police say, that search led to the discovery of 5 semiautomatic handguns.
As a result, 21-year-old Darius Banks was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Criminal Impersonation for giving Troopers a fake name in an effort to hide his suspended license status.
He was remanded to Herkimer County Jail in lieu of cash bail or bond.
