Rome Mayor Jacqueline Izzo delivered her State of the City Address on Tuesday at the Mohawk Valley Community College Rome Campus.

Izzo spent a good part of her speech focusing on economic and community development.

Izzo highlighted projects including improvements to Bellamy Harbor Park, expansion efforts along West Thomas Street and private sector development at the Griffiss Business Park

She also announced that in the coming months, the city will seek out partners willing to invest in the area of the aging North George Street parking garage, which will have to come down.

The mayor also said thanks to cost saving measures implemented last year, the city will end the 2017 fiscal year solidly in the black..
