Rome Mayor Jacqueline Izzo delivered her State of the City Address on Tuesday at Mohawk Valley Community College's Rome campus.

Izzo focused on economic development and downtown revitalization.  She says economic development remains at the top of the agenda each and every day, and the City's hard work is beginning to pay off.

Izzo says the most important win was the $10 million prize for the Downtown Revitalization Initiative.

Izzo said the City hopes to demolish the crumbling Liberty George Street parking garage to create much needed downtown housing.

She also said significant improvements will be made to Capitol Theatre, the City Hall Green and the Liberty/James Street parking garage. along with the creation of a business re-development fund.

The Mayor will be a guest on Wednesday's First New with Keeler Show on WIBX.
