Oneida City Police have arrested two Oneida residents on drug charges following a fire that was the result of an alleged meth lab explosion.

36-year old Bryan Musacchio and 45-year old Paula Hunkins are facing charges including criminal possession of methamphetamine, unlawful manufacture of meth and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say they discovered a smoldering fire in an apartment on Madison Street, along with meth manufacturing materials and a quantity of finished methamphetamine product.

Additional charges may be filed pending further investigation..

Police are crediting the watchful eye of residents and neighbors with alerting them to the activity.
