Nagel’s Fall Drink Recipe – If You Have A Ton of Basil Left Over

Looking for a drink that will allow you to hold on what's left of warm sunshine this summer?  Normally, John Nagel is on the Keeler Show every Thursday with our craft beer of the week; but, with the abnormally warm weather he offered up this gem, if you have a bunch of basil to get rid of.

It turns out, I have a ton of basil and my wife has this amazing lemon tree that treat like one of our kids and it actually produces full-size lemons for us every year. So, with fresh basil and yes, lemons grown in our back yard, we present Nagel's garden fresh 'summer like, fall' cocktail.

Basil, Lemonade Vodka Cocktail

Juice from 1 large lemon

1 tsp sugar (I used all-natural, Zero calorie Stevia)

4 leaves Basil

1 1/2 oz. Vodka

ice and water

Add juice from lemon and basil and muddle.  Add vodka, sugar and ice and top off with water. Shake and serve.
