Rome, NY (WIBX) - The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is investigating a hit and run accident.

It happened just before 11:30 Monday night on Rome-Taberg Road.

20-year old Michael Beascok was walking along the road when he was struck from behind.

Beasock was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, where he was treated for severe but non-life threatening injuries.

The vehicle that hit Beasock fled the scene.

Deputies say the vehicle is missing its passenger side mirror and should also have a broken passenger side window and possible damage to the windshield near the passenger's side.

If anyone has information regarding the accident, they're asked to call the Sheriff's Office.
