New Hartford, NY (WIBX) - Two people are in jail for allegedly running a meth lab at a home in the Town of New Hartford. Officials say they discovered the meth lab at 302 Washington Drive while investigating a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway of the home. Police allegedly found items of methamphetamine production in the car and in the residence. 30-year-old Jeffrey J. Martin of 302 Washington Drive,  and 26-year-old Maria C. Oles of 12 Birchdale Crescent, were arrested and charged as follows:

  • Criminal Possession of Precursors of Methamphetamine (E-Felony),
  • Unlawful Manufacturing of Methamphetamine 3rd (D-Felony),
  • Criminal Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Material (A-Misdemeanor)
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th (A-Misdemeanor)

Police report that they were arraigned in the Town of New Hartford court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail on $20, 000 bail and $10, 000 bail respectively. The New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) and the New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT) assisted with the investigation and processing of the scene. The State Police were further assisted by the New Hartford Police Department and the Department of Environmental Conservation. Officials say their investigation is still ongoing.
