Volunteers from the Mohawk Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross provided immediate emergency aid to nine people after a multi-family fire early this morning on Albany Street in Utica.

The Red Cross provided financial assistance for necessities like shelter, food and clothing to nine adults.

The fire at 510 Albany Street broke out around 3:00 a.m. Friday.

One Utica firefighter was taken to the hospital for treatment of a minor inrury.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it's believed to be electrical.
