Robberies Down In Utica

Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Utica Police Department is reporting that the number of robberies was down slightly in 2011.

There were 111 robberies in 2011 compared to 169 in 2010.  The number of burglaries increased by about fifty, however.  There were 648 burglaries in 2011 compared to 598 in 2010.  The Utica Police Department is crediting their Criminal Investigation and Uniform Patrol Division with the drop in robberies, and is hoping to continue the trend.
