Rochester Man Arrested For Attempted Murder In Latest Utica Shooting

Utica Police have made an arrest in connection with the shooting of a man on the corner of Kossuth Ave and South Street.

Officials say, the suspect was located and identified as 35-year-old Brandell Watkins of Rochester, NY. Watkins was located in Rocherster with the assistance of Rochester PD and State Police.

Watkins will be returned to Utica to face local charges for the alleged shooting of Jonathan Hines of Utica who remains in critical condition. Watkins is facing several felony charges including,

• Attempted Murder in the 2^nd Degree
• Criminal Use of a Firearm in the 1^st Degree
• Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2^nd Degree

Additional charges may be levied against Watkins in the future.
