A Rome man is facing several charges following an early morning accident.

Rome Police say 28-year old Francis Lusby was driving at a high rate of speed on Floyd Avenue when an officer tried to pull him over.

The officer ended the chase due to Lusby's high rate of speed and reckless operation.

Lusby eventually crashed his car into a utility pole on the 600 block of Floyd Avenue

He was charged with DWI, reckless driving, fleeing a police officer and numerous vehicle and traffic violations.
