Syracuse, NY (WIBX) - A Herkimer man is in critical condition at University Hospital in Syracuse after being shocked by a downed wire.The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office say 21-year old Thomas Feane, an ROTC cadet at Syracuse University, was checking a section of the US Marine Reserve Center's grounds for an upcoming training exercise.

Deputies say Feane came in contact with a downed wire that had fallen from a utility pole.

Not realizing it was energized, Feane reached for the wire and was shocked by over 34,000 volts.
