Utica, NY (WIBX) - Whether it's echoing drums, old style gowns or a look into the Civil War, The Landmarks Society of Greater Utica has something for everyone.

On September 15th, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., the Landmarks Society is hosting its second annual History Comes Alive Celebration in Utica's Rutger Park.

The one day event features storytelling and living historians, including local leaders, such as the Remington and Conkling families, and national figures like Harriet Tubman and Abe Lincoln.

In addition, the Daughters of the American Revolution will perform a tea ceremony, while the Oneida Indian Nation demonstrates how to make corn husk dolls. Desserts and refreshments will also be available.

Proceeds from the event will be used to restore buildings at Rutger Park.

The cost to attend the History Comes Alive celebration is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Children under five receive free admission.
