Utica, NY (WIBX) - Voters head to the polls today to decide on school budgets and vote on school board members.

Residents in Utica will be considering a nearly $138-million spending plan that contains over 200 jobs cuts due to a $10-million budget shortfall.

The budget would increase property taxes by 1.5%.

Six candidates are running for three seats on the Utica School Board.

Meanwhile in Rome, a $101-million budget will put before voters that would increase property taxes by 1.72%

Polls are open in Rome from 7:00 to 9:00, while polls in Utica are open from noon to 9:00.
