Senator Joseph Griffo Says He Won’t Run for Congress

Senator Joe Griffo told WIBX's First News with Keeler in the Morning that he has decided not to run for Congress.  Griffo was seriously considering a run for the seat which will be vacated at the end of the year following Richard Hanna's announcement that he'll retire.

Recently, Anthony Brindisi and Anthony Picente both announced they won't be running for the seat.  Currently, Republican Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney has announced her campaign along with the Binghamton area's George Phillips.

A handful of others have shown an interest in the seat. One of those is former NY Senator Ray Meier.
