Senator James Seward says a $100,000 state grant will help fund upgrades at Veterans Memorial Park in Little Falls.

Improvements will include new lights and poles, a new scoreboard and resurfaced basketball and tennis courts.

The project's total cost is $645,000 and it's expected to be completed this fall.

Little Falls is also getting a $484,000 municipal parks grant from New York State.

“Veterans Memorial Park is a Little Falls landmark and it will continue to thrive for generations to come,” said Senator Seward.  “I am extremely pleased to partner with Mayor Mark Blask and the city council along with DiamondDawgs Owner Travis Heiser to further foster the tradition of baseball in Little Falls and improve this recreation focal point that means so much to residents, local businesses, and tourists.”

Veterans Memorial Park is the home of the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs.
