Staffworks Incorporated and the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties are celebrating a milestone.

The Staffworks Charitable Fund, a donor-advised fund of the Community Foundation which was established in 2006 by Staffworks, has exceeded the $10 million dollar mark.

Anita Vitullo, the founder and President of Staffworks, say the fund focuses on supporting programs and services related to domestic animal welfare.

Since 2009, nearly $1.4 million in grants have been awarded to more than a dozen animal welfare organizations across the region, including the Stevens-Swan Humane Society.

"Gizmo" an 8-year old pit bull awaiting adoption at Stevens-Swan, was on hand for Wednesday's announcement.
