It was a record year for New York campgrounds.

The Governor's office say more than two-million people camped at the state's 66 state park campgrounds this year.  That surpasses the previous record set in 2014.

Visitors booked State Park campsites, cabins and cottages for more than 618,000 nights, a four-percent increase over last year.

Late season camping remains available in some upstate and Long Island parks and there are some winterized cottages year around.
