At least one political group in the city of Utica is low on potential applicants available for screening for upcoming elections.

The City of Utica Republican Committee is struggling to find to candidates to run in this fall's election, says Chairman Joseph Hobika.

Utica Councilman At-Large Jim Zecca is accusing Oneida County and its County Executive of being less than honest. In fact, he says Anthony Picente has lied regarding some of the circumstances about the housing of sex offenders.

With a picket planned this weekend outside of North Utica hotels to protest the housing of sex offenders, the owner of currently closed motel property is speaking out to separate himself from the controversy.

Calling the next election for Comptroller "vitally important to the future of Utica", the City Republican Committee is beginning the search for a qualified candidate. Chairperson Joseph Hobika, Jr. says the committee is committed to recommend to the voters of Utica a candidate with experience in government, significant professional qualifications in finance and exceptional managerial ski
