After a heavy wave of negative publicity the Village of Whitesboro has made a decision to consult with the Oneida Indian Nation and members of the family of village founder Hugh White to redesign the controversial village seal.
The Village of Whitesboro's seal has been the subject of debate for decades but that debate has recently caused the national spotlight to be put on the village.
Don Hartman and Nancy Hartman have been in business for over 40 years. The building which is home to The Potting Shed Antiques has been in Don Hartman's family since it was Hartman's Flowers in the 1950s. Now, Don and his wife have made it clear what their stance is regarding the reputation their town has received nationally these past few days.
The Village of Whitesboro continues to make national headlines this week following Monday's informal vote by residents to keep the seal of the village the same.
The seal for the Village of Whitesboro will remain. Some have criticized the seal, which depicts Village founder Hugh White wrestling a member of the Oneida Indian Nation.
