The Utica Blue Sox of the PGCBL have announced their home opener, June 1 at Donovan Stadium in Utica against rival Adirondack.  Utica opens the season in Oneonta on May 31.

The Blue Sox are part of the PGCBL collegiate baseball league and are touting their best roster in franchise history of Division I college players, including their first All-American.

Utica will play 47 games in June and July including 24 games at home.

The Utica Blue Sox of yester-year include the NY Penn League Single A team from 1977 to 2001. The original Utica baseball franchise dated back to the 1940's and were then called the Utica Braves. At that time, Utica was a Eastern League Class A farm team for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Listen to an interview Cooper Deck, discussing the future (and past) of the Utica Blue Sox.
