Utica Council Looking To Cut Civil Service Department

Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Utica Common Council is still looking to save every possible dollar.

Last night they put into committee a resolution to eliminate one city department and consolidate it with Oneida County government.

On the chopping block, the City's Civil Service Department.

However, the savings realized if that department were to be abolished would be minimal, according to Finance Committee Chair Ed Bucciero.

The resolution will be added to the Utica Common Council Finance Committee's agenda.
