Utica, NY (WIBX) - The Utica Common Council trimmed about 1% out of Mayor Palmieri's $60+ million dollar budget, that equates to just under $200,000.

Finance Committee Chairman and Councilor-at-Large Ed Buccerio says it's just a drop in the bucket. "If there isn't any movement from the employee bargaining units to come to the table and help us, then we're probably going to have to move down the path of other legislation in committee that we will have to act on", said Bucceiro.

The Common Council will meet this coming Friday to make public more of their budget cuts, in the meantime, Mayor Palmieri remains tight-lipped regarding union concession talks.

The Utica Common Council has until March 20th to accept or deny the Mayor's budget.
