Vernon Downs Concert Raises Nearly $90,000 For Food Bank

The Food Bank of Central New York will be getting nearly $90,000, thanks to the generosity of concert-goers and Vernon Downs.

About 3,000 fans packed the  Downs for a July 3rd concert featuring country star Sara Evans.

Vernon Downs owner Jeff Gural promised to not only donate the entire $15-dollar ticket price to the Food Bank, but also double the donation through a $15-dollar match. Gural also pledged to add an additional 50 cents for each dollar donated the day of the show.

For every dollar donated to the food bank, 96 cents goes directly to towards helping feed the hungry in central and northern New York.
