Vernon Downs To Kick Off 66th Season Of Harness Racing On Friday

The 66th season of live harness racing begins at Vernon Downs on Friday night with a 6:10 post time.

Stephan Gibson, Marketing Services Manager at Vernon Downs, says they're looking forward to getting the season underway.

Highlights of the 2019 season include:

• Kentucky Derby Day, on Saturday, May 4th.  Post time for racing is 4:30.
• The Empire Breeders Classic Finals on Memorial Day.  Post time is 1:05.

The racing season will run through November 2nd.

A concert to benefit the Food Bank of Central New York will take place at Vernon Downs on August 9th, featuring country music legends Crystal Gayle and Lee Greenwood.
