Winter Storm This Week Could Feature Snow, Rain and Mix
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Monday afternoon through Tuesday, a Nor'easter that could feature rain, snow and mixed precipitation for the Mohawk Valley.
According to forecasters, precipitation will begin as rain on Monday evening and change to snow and sleet overnight with accumulations of 5 to 8 inches (8 to 12 inches in Northern Oneida County) by the morning commute on Tuesday. Southern Herkimer County is under a Winter Weather Advisory with less accumulation expected. Tuesday morning's commute could include freezing rain.
Driving conditions could be hazardous for the afternoon commute on Monday and the morning commute on Tuesday.
