Alexander Named Coordinator Of Anti Poverty Initiative
A life-long Utica resident has been named the coordinator of the Mohawk Valley Anti-Poverty Initiative.
Kevin Alexander is a 2009 graduate of Proctor High School and was a founding member of the Underground Cafe in 2006.
Alexander was also the first Hamilton College student to receive the Rust 2 Green Initiative Research Fellowship
“I believe the ultimate accomplishment of this initiative should be to create, promote, and enhance public, private, and interagency partnership to generate a greater collective impact in our community. We are excited to work closely with our community as a whole to not only understand the causes and challenges of poverty, but to effectively gather input on how together, we can eliminate it,” Alexander said.
Partners in the Anti-Poverty Initiative include the United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area and the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties.
