The City of Rome has received a $43,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties for construction of a new pavilion at Haselton Wright Park.

The pavilion will include restroom facilities and storage space.

"Haselton Wright Park in the most heavily utilized of all the parks in the City's inventory and we're pleased that the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties has chosen to fund this much needed project." said Rome Mayor Jacqueline Izzo.

The total cost of the project is $145,000, including $100,00 from the NYS Dormitory Authority.

Construction is set to begin in the fall.
