Earlville Man Charged With Possessing Stolen Firearms
An Earlville man is facing numerous charges after seven stolen guns were allegedly found in his car during a traffic stop.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office says 23-year old Alex Rifenburg stole the weapons and a large ammunition box from a home in the Town of Hamilton.
Deputies say the seven guns, valued at over $5,300, consisted of one revolver, three semi-automatic pistols and three shotguns. They say six of the guns were stolen from the Hamilton residence and one of the shotguns recovered was reported stolen in Fulton in 1993.
Authorities say they found four other firearms and the ammunition box taken in the Hamilton burglary at Rifenburg's home
Rifenburg is charged with six counts of criminal possession of stolen property and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.
Rifenburg is facing additional charges in Otsego County,
