Former Oneida County Sheriff William Hasenauer Honored

A ceremony was held on Monday at the Oneida County Sheriff's Office in Oriskany to honor former Sheriff William Hasenauer.

Members of his family, including his wife, daughter and granddaughter, were on hand as the Sheriff's Administrative Conference room was named after Sheriff Hasenauer

Elizabeth Hasenauer says her husband would have been very proud.

Hasenauer passed away in October of last year and Monday would have been his 90th birthday.

He was in office from 1973 to 1990 and is the longest serving Sheriff in Oneida County history.
