Herkimer County Man Charged Following Standoff With Police

Columbia, NY (WIBX) - A Herkimer County man is facing charges following a 16 hour standoff with State Police.Police say 52-year old Donald Brown barricaded himself inside his home on Route 28 in Columbia after troopers were called to the home for a domestic incident on Monday afternoon.

He surrendered without incident this morning.

Brown was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Investigators say Brown was found to be in possession of two weapons classified as assault rifles.
