The last time central New York welcomed Olympic medalist Erin Hamlin home it was quite a bit colder than most of us would like. But, those scared off by the cold won't have to worry at the upcoming Erin Hamlin Celebration Party being dubbed Luga-A-Palooza.

As indicated by its name, it's a celebration of an area hometown hero with a day long party on Saturday June 7, to include a parade on Main Street in Remsen, LIVE bands from 2:30 to 9:00, free desserts like the Erin Hamlin Sundae and a GINORMOUS cake, plus fireworks at dark.

There are also train rides to and from Utica via the Adirondack Scenic Railroad.

There is no admission fee to the party, but there is a $20 round trip rail transportation cost. Free early return shuttle buses will run from Remsen to Utica at 5:30 and 7:00.
