Utica, NY (WIBX) - Centro is installing new bus shelters for its customers in Utica, Whitesboro and New Hartford.

30 new shelters will be installed over the next couple of months, 25 in Utica, three in New Hartford and two in Whitesboro.

11 of the shelters have already been put up in Utica.

The new structures are green and include a full-sized roof and bench seating.

Centro General Manager Ron Bucciero says the shelters are more modern and aesthetically pleasing than the older shelters that have been around since the 1990's.

The total cost of the project is $150,000.

The shelters were purchased with 2009 federal stimulus funds.
