Richfield Springs To Establish Student Based Health Center
The new state budget includes $150,000 to establish a Bassett Healthcare Network school-based health center at Richfield Springs Central School.
Senator James Seward, who announced the funding, says school-based health centers fill a great void in rural areas.
The state funding will provide about half the money needed for the center.
Once the rest of the funding is secured, Bassett will apply for state approval and recruit providers.
The school district is hoping to establish the program by the fall of 2014.
