Rome Mayor Jackie Izzo was on Keeler this week talking about proceeding with downtown economic development projects that will be getting under way after the city won funding from Albany.  Governor Ansdrew Cuomo announced the funding recently at a stop at the Mohawk Valley Community College's Rome campus.

"There will be a lot of construction coming up," Izzo told Keeler as she explained how the money would be used for downtown housing, clean up, improvements to the Capitol Theater and more.  The projects all contain public and private contributions.

Construction is expected to begin in 2019.  Listen to the interview below.
