Win ‘Sound of Music’ Tickets This Week on Keeler Show
WIBX and Broadway Utica are giving listeners the chance to win tickets to the legendary musical, the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, The Sound of Music, playing at the Stanley Theatre April 23rd and 24th.
Tickets to the show will be given away every day this week (4/8 - 4/12) during the Keeler Show from 6 until 9 a.m. each day. Keeler will be challenging listeners with a contest called, Lyrics in Conversation.

Here's how it works: every weekday, a line from the lyrics to the song The Sound of Music will be selected and Keeler will have to work the line into normal conversation. When a listener detects the line, they call the studio at 315-736-0186 and the 7th caller will be selected to win the tickets.

Here's an example: Let's say the selected lyrics are, "A star has come out to tell me it's time to go." Sometime during the morning, Keeler might incorporate the line this way: "News is coming up at the top of the hour. We'll also have a complete forecast which shows things changing just a bit for this week. A star has come out to tell me it's time to go, so I'll break for news, which is next on WIBX." The seventh caller into the studio would win the tickets.
To give you a slight advantage, here are the actual lyrics to The Sound of Music.
The Sound of Music
Music by Richard Rodgers, Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II
My day in the hills has come to end I know
A star has come out to tell me it's time to go
But deep in the dark green forest
Are voices that urge me to stay
So I pause and I wait and I listen
For one more sound for one more lovely thing
That the hills might say
The hills are alive
With the sound of music
With songs they have sung
For a thousand years
The hills fill my heart
With the sound of music
My heart wants to sing ev'ry song it hears
My heart wants to beat like the wings of the birds
That rise from the lake to the trees
My heart wants to sigh like a chime that flies
From a church on a breeze
To laugh like a brook when it trips and falls
Over stones on it's way
To sing through the night
Like a lark who is learning to prey
I go to the hills
When my heart is lonely
I know I will hear
What I've heard before
My heart will be blessed
With the sound of music
And I'll sing once more
