It was on this day back in 1817 that the Utica Observer-Dispatch was born. For 200 years this newspaper has sat beside the morning cup of coffee, rested on the breakfast counter at area diners, and has been tossed on into mailboxes for thousands to get their news.

In celebration of this milestone Bill Keeler of First News with Keeler in the Morning had the idea to honor our fellow news people with a special delivery. A trip to Daylight Donuts for several boxes of coffee and fresh donuts was the perfect gift for a hungry newsroom full of writers and Utica OD staff.

The delivery was made live on the air, well sort of, and later enjoyed by many. You can see the journey of the doughnut delivery and the enjoyment of the breakfast treats in the video above.

To everyone at the Utica Observer Dispatch, Happy Birthday! Here's to 200 more years of news right here in Central New York.
