Utica, NY (WIBX) - Congressman Hanna is honoring a local doctor for his legacy of giving.

Hannah presented Doctor Theodore "Ted" Max with a Congressional Proclaimation today to show his appreciation for his support in the community.

Doctor Max was awarded with the 2011 Rosamond Childs Award for Community Philanthropy from the Community last month--that is the same award that Hannah received in 2007.

The award was established in 2006 and is presented annually to an individual who exhibits a spirit of giving,  supports a variety of charitable organizations and causes, and whose philanthropy provides significant benefit to the community.

Like Hannah, Doctor Max supports many local organizations through his own funds, as well as donor-advised funds at The Community Center.

"Ted Max has an inspirational spirit of generosity and compassion, and it is an honor to recognize him for his efforts," said Hanna. "Ted epitomizes the essence of a caring philanthropist. His life and legacy will leave a lasting impact on generations to come."

Hannah says he is honored to recognize Doctor Ted Max for his efforts.
