Volunteers from the Mohawk Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to two fires on Wednesday.

The Red Cross is providing assistance to two adults and a 17-year old after a fire on Jordanville Road in Ilion.

They're also helping a family of three -- one adult and two children, ages 3 and 9 -- following a fire on Myers Street in Yorkville.

In 2016, the Red Cross responded to more than 400 home fires and other disasters in the 24-county Eastern New York Region. Red Cross staff and volunteers provided assistance, care and comfort to more than 2,000 local residents last year.
