There's a good chance, the two teams will meet each other for the IIHF World Championship on Sunday. I feel, we're witnessing the re-birth of the Utica-Rome Mohawk Valley region after decades of decline.
Team USA in Hard Fought Battle, Defeats Canada 1-0 in OT
It was a record crowd and an electricity rarely seen inside the Adirondack Bank Center as 4,017 fans packed-in to see Team USA and Canada skate to a 0-0 tie in regulation in their final preliminary game at the IIHF Women's World Championships in Utica. The American's would ultimately win the game 1-0 in OT.
Team USA Wins Nail Biter Against Finland (Photo Gallery)
Team USA defeated Finland by a score of 5-3 on Saturday night at the Adirondack Bank Center. The game was a nail-biter as Finland, which had only scored one goal in its previous games, came out of the gate scoring. Team USA scored its third straight preliminary round victory ahead of their big face-off against Canada on Monday night, the final preliminary tournament game.

It was another dominating win on Friday night at the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica as Team USA shutout Czechia by a score of 6-0. The shutout victory came despite 7 Czechia power plays as goalie Nicole Hensley of Colorado stopped all 19 shots made by Czechia.
